On Feb. 18, 2010, Evan Lysacek became the first American man since Brian Boitano in 1988 to win Olympic figure skating gold. It was a triumph of grace over flash, and it led silver medalist Evgeni Plushenko of Russia to criticize Lysacek’s lack of a quadruple jump in his Olympic program.
